I love teaching yoga. I’m a Certified Iyengar Instructor with over three and a half decades of teaching the Iyengar technique. I am a member of the core founding faculty of the New York City Iyengar Institute. I’m also certified in teaching Yoga for Scoliosis. I founded two private studios, one in New York and one in Anguilla B.W.I. I’m available for private yoga sessions. I teach workshops and retreats on a vast array of subjects world-wide.

Yoga For Scoliosis

Scoliosis is a three dimensional curvature of the spine with additions of twists, torques and rotations to individual vertebra within the curvatures the spinal column. I am a certified Yoga for Scoliosis instructor.

When students with scoliosis come to me for private yoga we work in one-on-one sessions. Together we explore what your curvature is and what your body needs. With a regular practice, you can ease pain, explore self awareness and learn to balance your body in a graceful way minimizing further curvature of the spine.

Iyengar Yoga

B.K.S. Iyengar, the genius creator of Iyengar Yoga, passed away in 2014 at the age of 95. He is well known for his books Light on Yoga and Light on Pranayama among many more books and articles on the subject. Iyengar Yoga emphasizes balanced alignment allowing the body and the mind to develop harmoniously while avoiding injury and discomfort when practicing.

Mr. Iyengar also developed the use of a wide variety of props to help students with limitations to practice postures they would otherwise not have the opportunity to learn and explore deeper concepts and subtleties. The props assist a student to adjust or support the body in different postures to enable a range of motion that is safe and effective. Thus allowing postures to be held for longer timings to let the effects of a pose soak deep into the students experience and psyche.

Mr. Iyengar was also a world renown master of yoga therapeutics. He was known to have explored the ways asanas could help people recover from illness, ailments, medical conditions and injury. Mr. Iyengar's unrelenting emphasis on balanced anatomical alignment and methods of refining postures support the therapeutic aspects of yoga. Thus the practice of Iyengar Yoga will often result in improved posture, greater mobility, strength and ease from discomfort.
