Thank you for visiting my website. I’m Jeanne-Marie Derrick, a Clinical Ayurveda Specialist and Ayurveda Herbalist.

My story with ayurveda started many years ago as a student of yoga. I have gone on to become a practicing Clinical Ayurveda Specialist, having graduated from the California College of Ayurveda, considered the premier school for ayurveda studies in the country.

I became intrigued with ayurveda when I had questions about my health, having a history of issues, challenges and conditions mostly related to stress.  But, I wasn’t interested in just finding a fix, my question was, “why do we get sick in the first place?”. I desired to awaken that innate knowledge of how to heal my self, finding that modern medical science did not offer this support. This ancient systems of medicine, ayurveda, offers opportunities for self transformation and gives us access to resources for self-regulation. We’re accountable for our impulses and learn to make healthy and more integrated choices in our actions. We learn to engage life from the inside out, to engage with the consciousness that makes up our very being.

Through ayurveda I recognize that I am waking up to who I truly am. I appreciate that I’m ever changing, sacred and transcendent.  Ayurveda theory reminds me to honor and align with life as a sacred experience. By focusing on the basics of healthy eating, following simple everyday routines and incorporating herbs I was able to restore my health, find peace of mind and accomplish the results I was seeking; to maintain consistent health and balanced, and recognize when that is not happening. Letting the daily practice meet me were I am, I can continue to interact with my needs and nature without judgement and foster love and respect for myself and all.

Not only did Ayurveda effectively treat my conditions, I found the true cause of my discomfort was not a “dis-ease”, it was simply being out of touch with my basic needs and innate response to heal. We are all born healers. It is in our nature, but we need to remember how to heal and why it is so important. Ayurveda has empowered me to become my better self and has given me a way to view health and wellbeing as preventative tools in our personal tool box of life.

I am here to support you in remembering who you truly are and how to find what brings you health, balance and peace.
